The Foam fire fighting apparatus MAN is to manufacture, supply, and deliver to the Port of Hodeidah, commissioning testing and setting to work of ONE Fire Fighting Truck unit, which will be used to combat fire mainly in the port of Hodeidah but also provide assistance to the governorate when and if this prove possible.
The Man fire truck with all of its moving parts shall be of higher standard, strong and sturdy construction. Power unit, gears, transmission, wiring lighting, controls and instruments shall be well protected from weather and mechanical damage. The truck shall be designed to ensure that it is easy and convenient to operate, inspect, lubricate and maintain.
All parts of the truck shall be prepared for shipment with adequate protective coating materials to ensure they arrive at the port of destination in first class condition and the method and materials used shall be stated in the tender.


Technical Specification
Water & Foam Tanks
Capacity of water tank should be no less than 8,000 litres while the foam tank capacity no less than 1,000 litres. Both thanks should be made of suitable steel capable of withstanding chemical interaction its contents. Fittings in and outside the tanks adequate for fire fighting application should be mounted.
Operator's Cabin
The truck shall be provided with a weather-tight, totally enclosed, forced ventilated, air conditioned, one driver and five firefighters, forward facing, forward control, robustly designed and constructed to resist impact forces and to provide the driver with a safe, practical and efficient working environment.
The cab of (L. H. drive) shall be constructed in non combustible materials, totally enclosed, weatherproof, insulated to reduce noise levels within the cabin to 80 DB(A) or less and shall be mounted on adequate suspension pads so that vibration is minimal. Two entrance lockable doors to the cabin.
Laminated anti-glare glass windows shall be opening closing type & provide full all round visibility and the windows or windscreens shall have wipers and washers. The cabin shall be provided with an interior light and an efficient branded air-conditioning system with air filter to ensure only clean air is drawn into the cabin. Entrance doors to the cabin shall be lockable and safe access to the cabin shall be provided.

Power units shall be a water cooled heavy duty diesel engine, in conformity to the latest Euromot 3a emission stage adequately rated for the maximum load conditions of the truck or equivalent and an entirely suitable for operating in the climatic condition stated above.
A fuel tank shall be provided giving good access for refilling and maintenance yet suitably protected against impact damage. A strainer shall be incorporated into the filler neck and an inspection plate, which will permit access for cleaning inside the entire tank. An easily accessible water trap shall be provided in the fuel line designed to collect all impurities before the fuel reaches the injectors. The diesel tank shall be mounted in such a way that vibration transmitted to the fuel tank and its relevant pipe work is kept to a minimum. Provision shall also be made for draining and flushing the fuel tank.
Full instrumentation for engine water temperature, Oil pressure, hours run meter etc., shall be provided.
The engine exhaust must be designed to allow the safe efficient passage of exhaust gases away form the driver's cab and shielded to prevent anyone coming into contact with the "Hot" parts of the system.
Transmission
A full power shift transmission is to be included. An inhibitor should be fitted to prevent the engine being started whilst the transmission is in gear. Manual transmission is preferable.
Steering
Full hydrostatic power steering and 4 × 2 wheel configuration with emergency operation in the event hydraulic engine failure shall be provided.
Chassis
A high torsion strength weldable quality not requiring special temperature conditions for repair works. Front and rear towing pins to be fitted.
Suspension
The front suspension shall be heave duty spring constructed mounted to the chassis frame and fitted with an efficient shock absorber system. The rear suspension shall be of the pneumatic suspension type with shock absorbers to control and damp axle movement and provide increased tractor stability.
