Water truck is known as the distributor, multi-function sprinkler, in the case of liquid transport:
- Unlike a rectangular shape whose corners and flat sides create weak points of pressure, a cylindrical container does not have weak spots that need reinforcing. (Same reason why airplane windows are always rounded and not square in shape.)
- Spherical shapes hold the most amount of liquified loads but they're not practical when you consider ground transport. So, the next best choice is an `elongated sphere' without hard sides – which is precisely what a water truck with an ellipse tank offers.
- Stability of water trucks is a prime consideration, why is why you want to select a shape whose center of gravity is as close to the ground as possible. A rectangular tank would have a higher center of gravity, which is why the ellipse shape is the best choice.
- When Faw water sprinkler tanker accelerates or slows down, the liquid in the tanker sloshes around. This is known as `surge' and can easily unbalance the vehicle and cause accidents. Water trucks with elliptical tanks experience significantly less surges than rectangular ones would.
- Unlike elliptical tankers, rectangular shapes have sharp corners that would make them harder to clean when removing collected water sediment and debris.
